too soft for a newborn/infant, August 9, 2009 By lucas & logan's mom "Michele" (Long Island, NY) - See all my reviews This review is from: Sealy Perfect Rest Crib Mattress (Baby Product) this mattress was delivered in a day or two. i researched the differences in a foam mattress which i already owned vs this spring coil mattress. i thought it would be fine. this specific mattress was very soft compared to the solid foam one i had. i switched this one to my son's room, he's almost 3 and it's fine for him. way too soft for a newborn or infant.

It dips in the middle like my old, used one did. The lining on the product is thick and non-porous, so I didn't have a fear of my baby smothering in the mattress. I just wasn't terribly impressed with the quality for the $.
